CHSPA begins scholarship support for advisers

Board hopes to encourage state advisers to develop their skills, seek inspiration, and grow as professionals

Sometimes your local district or school just can’t provide all the support needed for advisers to take advantage of professional development opportunities. That’s where the new CHSPA Adviser Scholarships can help. These $250 scholarships are paid following the workshop or course or conference, and applicants are chosen based on a short personal statement on the application.

A board committee will consider applicants three times per school year to distribute the available scholarship money (currently at $2,000). This funding comes from J-Day exhibitor fees. When all money has been allocated, members will be notified right away, but the board hopes to continue the funding with each new fiscal year.

Only advisers of CHSPA-member student media may apply for these scholarships. Applications for the 2014-15 Adviser Scholarships may be submitted at your convenience, and the interactive PDF form can be found here.
