Madison Szpunar, senior at Rampart HS, is the recipient of the 2024 Eric Benson Scholarship. This is a one-time $2000 scholarship funded by Sue and Bruce Benson in honor of their son.
Szpunar’s portfolio reveals her curiosity about those around her, as she seeks to learn others’ stories.
“She has strong views on some tough issues, and she sees part of her mission as highlighting issues such as ‘responding to school threats’ as well as simply being curious,” said one judge. “She claims to begin from ‘everyone has a story to tell,’ and then she backs it up in her video segments.”
In addition to producing stories, Szpunar has taken on leadership responsibilities for KRAM at Rampart HS.
