JOIN US!

We are now the Colorado Student Media Association (as of July 1, 2015) and our goal is to bring all Colorado student media programs, whether middle school or high school, into our association. We are more powerful together than isolated on our campuses. Membership is an amazing value, including both individual and overall media contests and critiques. A media critique from a national service can run well over $100 by itself, but our service is included in your $65 annual dues.

Want more reasons to become an active member? Check out our 2020 Membership Guide.

GOOD NEWS! You can once again pay for any CSMA (formerly CHSPA) services (including membership dues and J-Day registration) using your school or personal credit card. Of course, we also accept school checks.

Membership for CSMA is by individual school medium, and we offer memberships for newspaper, yearbook, video broadcast, and website. It can save your school some money to combine all media offered on a single form. We also offer a much-reduced registration fee for J-Day for our members.

Our bylaws call for all renewals to be filed not later than Oct. 1 of each year (and membership qualifies you for special pricing for J-Day registration). Only CSMA member media may enter our Best of Colorado awards and the All-Colorado critique and ratings program. Only students who are part of a CSMA member medium may apply for our many individual awards and scholarships.

The easiest way to join CSMA (or renew) is to follow this link to our online registration form for 2021-22. You will have an opportunity to either pay by credit card or check (your membership will be updated once the check arrives).
