Historically, CSMA ran a contest called “One Day,” in which publications submitted coverage about all the events that happened on their campus on a specified day. Now, the coverage contest has been revamped to highlight existing publication work in the form of “One Story Spotlight.”

Details

All current CSMA member publications are eligible to submit entries that meet scholastic journalism standards.

Entry requirements:

• News (print and online): submit one news or feature story (non-sport), with at least one photo and caption.
• Yearbook: submit coverage of one news or feature event (non-sport), with three photos and accompanying captions.
• Broadcast: submit one news or feature story (non-sport).

Dates:

• Submissions must cover an event that occurs during the week of Nov. 13-17, 2023. Any non-sport coverage within that timeframe is eligible.
• Entries are due on Dec. 5, 2023 through the submission form.
• Winners will be announced by Dec. 8, 2023.

Prizes:

• Since this is a spotlight on great student work, the submissions will not be judged.
• All submissions will be entered into a raffle, and three lucky publications will win a $50 gift card for pizza for their staff!

Results:

• Submissions will be posted on CSMA’s website or linked to the hosting platform of the publication so that everyone can enjoy the great coverage in Colorado!
