DENVER — The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, as part of its organizing of “Championship Saturday VIII,” the Class 4A and 5A Colorado High School football championships, will again sponsor a seminar in sports journalism and photojournalism in conjunction with the Colorado chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. Rich Clarkson & Associates is playing a key role in this free seminar.
The evening, featuring the Denver area’s top sports journalists, will take place in the main floor theater of The Denver Post building, 101 West Colfax, on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend.
Originally produced for the previous seven years for Colorado high school journalists and photojournalists, college and middle school students are also invited this year.
The list of presenters includes Denver Post photographer John Leyba, Denver Post sportswriter and author Terry Frei, AVA 2011 Platinum and 2012 Terry Award winning photographer Matt Sewick, and former National Geographic Society director of photography and current lead NCAA photographer Rich Clarkson, for the evening program.
The presenters will tell of careers in journalism, sports journalism and photojournalism, in addition to presenting photo slide shows.
In addition to the program, part of the week’s activities built around the high school football championships. Student attendees to the seminar will receive free tickets to Championship Saturday VIII.
“Championship Saturday VIII,” is presented by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, with the support of sponsors, Gatorade & King Soopers, The Denver Post, Wells Fargo, AT&T Mobility, and Denver Broncos’ Stadium Management Company. The 4A and 5A Colorado high school championship games will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
