The Colorado Student Media Association is proud to announce that Jed Palmer has accepted the position as Executive Director of the Colorado Student Media Association. Jed has a long history with the CSMA and has over 20 years experience advising student journalism. He was a JEA 2023 Medal of Merit recipient, JEA 2013 Distinguished Yearbook Adviser, and the 2013 Colorado Student Media Association Adviser of the Year. He has served on the CSMA board several times in several capacities, and brings a wealth of ideas and enthusiasm to the position of Executive Director.
In his own words he says, “I am committed to quality student publications and believe that all students are capable of excellence. I believe in student-run journalism and support student voices.” We are both grateful and extremely lucky to have him as our new executive director.
Our current executive director, Elise Carlson, has graciously offered to stay on for a brief time to mentor Jed as he starts this new chapter. Jed will start on April 1st of this year, while Elise will step down at the end of May. We thank Elise for all her hard work and expertise, and thank Jed for taking on this new responsibility with such enthusiasm.
Stay tuned for more information as we make the transition to Jed Palmer as our Executive Director!
