Jed Palmer, media adviser at Sierra MS, in Parker, was officially honored as a JEA Distinguished Yearbook Adviser during the adviser luncheon in San Diego on April 12. The JEA Yearbook Adviser of the Year program, which began in 1995, honors advisers who have done outstanding work in yearbook journalism, and the Distinguished ranking comes just behind the national winner. Jed is only the second middle school adviser to be so honored.
Jed is also the current CHSPA Adviser of the Year, and his students have enjoyed success at both the state and national levels.
Nine Coloradans received their Certified Journalism Educator recognition during the adviser luncheon. They include Nicole Arduini, Herff Jones; Genise Cushman, Herff Jones; Justin Daigle, Brighton HS; Adam Dawkins, Regis Jesuit HS; Stacey Ellwood, Jostens; Annie Gorenstein-Falkenberg, Arvada West HS; Jessica Leifheit, Castle View HS; Rebecca McGrath Pfnister, Herff Jones; and Leslie Thompson, Conifer HS.
Jack Kennedy received his Master Journalism Educator renewal, his fourth such renewal since initially earning the MJE in 1994. He is officially an MJE Emeritus, and his status will not expire (until he does).
