The CSMA Board has voted to establish a Student Advisory Board to serve as a resource for the organization and to collaborate with the Board on projects to enhance the organization. The first election for student members will take place this spring. Student candidates should be completing at least their first year on a publication staff with plans to continue on their school publication staff next year.

STUDENT BOARD
What it is:
- An opportunity for the students of the Colorado Student Media Association to assist in planning and supporting board events, while representing their fellow students.
- Students will be chosen from each of the districts listed below.
What it involves:
- Students on the student board will help plan and support board events.
- Students will attend monthly virtual meetings.
- Selected students will need to attend the CSMA Board meeting on the afternoon of June 4 at Castle View High School in Castle Rock, CO.
- Students will help create a monthly student newsletter and have the potential to create student specific events to encourage collaboration between CSMA and students.
- The inaugural board will help decide the mission and more specifics moving forward.
What is to be included with the Google Form application:
- Headshot (jpg file)
- Signed Permission Form (click here for permission form)
- 2 Letters of Recommendation from any teacher you’ve had or have currently (pdf preferred)
- Current Transcript
- 300 word or less biography
- 300 word or less explanation of why you want to be on the student board
- 2 minutes or less campaign video to be sent out with ballot

The application and permission form should be submitted by May 6 at 10 pm. Elections will take place May 13-17. You will be notified the following week whether or not you were elected.
