Competition Comment: The best entries contained a clear news hook that tied the school or local community to an issue of significance. Most importantly, the strongest entries contained an array of sources (i.e. live voices) that added depth, intrigue and understanding. They weren't simply compilations of online reports. Those two elements, combined with solid writing techniques, formed the foundation of the best stories.
