Competition Comment: Environmental portraits need to be different than candid photos. They imply a set-up shot in a controlled background. Sometimes, however, a candid shot CAN be a great photo to use with a profile, and one of those could potentially be used in this category, but a picture like that would need to be high-emotion: the football player covered in mud and sweat showing emotion sitting on the sideline or laying on the field after a game. (That's just one super cliche example)
But just to be clear, top environmental portraits are going to tell a story and show some emotion about the subject in their natural environment. It's not a normal action shot.
