Competition Comment: Editorials are supposed to be unsigned pieces that reflect the opinion of the staff, or of the editorial board of the publication. This is a difficult process to put into place, and most schools do not follow this as it is defined. On the surface, it is a simple change; no author listed for the piece and using words like "we" instead of "I." Of course, at its heart, the editorial represents more of a change than this - it should be a strong opinion piece, often one that is tough for parts or all of the school to hear, a piece that reflects a combined effort of an entire staff.
