Competition Comment: No matter how much yearbook evolves, one structural choice continues to separate the great from the OK, and that is anchoring each spread with some sort of lead art or dominant image. This cues readers as to how to enter the spread and provides a place to celebrate great narrative photography. Everything else on the spread then complements the immediacy of that great photo. And the best entries feature solid reporting in the extended captions.
